Trade Protection

Your Trade Is Never Left to Chance.

Every commercial opportunity comes with responsibilities. A buyer must honour the agreed purchase terms. Goods must be sourced and prepared correctly. Independent service providers must deliver their assigned services, and every stage must come together for the transaction to succeed.

KwikPort is built to make this process more structured, transparent and accountable.

Our trade-protection approach begins before an opportunity is published and continues through execution, completion and settlement.

It combines commercial verification, approved independent service providers, continuous supervision and defined commitments for resolving covered disruptions.

1.

Protection Begins Before You Trade

Not every commercial contract qualifies for participation on KwikPort.

Before an opportunity becomes available, we assess the buyer, review the commercial agreement, evaluate procurement requirements and examine the activities necessary to fulfil the contract.

Our assessment considers the credibility of the transaction, execution feasibility, expected costs, available commercial margins and the responsibilities of the parties involved.

This helps us identify whether a contract can be executed under clearly defined commercial conditions.

Verification is the first layer of protection because a trade should begin with an identifiable buyer, an assessed opportunity and a workable execution plan.

2.

Working With Approved Independent Service Providers

Commercial contracts often require specialised activities such as procurement, inspection, processing, packaging, logistics or documentation.

KwikPort connects participating traders with approved independent service providers whose capabilities are relevant to the contract.

You can review eligible providers, compare their services and charges, and appoint the providers responsible for each applicable stage.

Each provider remains accountable for the services it agrees to perform.

KwikPort coordinates and supervises the broader execution process, helping ensure that responsibilities are understood, progress is monitored and emerging issues are addressed.

3.

Your Personal Trade Officer

Once you activate your Trade Ticket, a dedicated Personal Trade Officer is assigned to support you throughout the transaction.

Your Trade Officer serves as your point of contact within KwikPort's trade-supervision process.

The officer monitors progress, communicates relevant updates, coordinates with appointed service providers and helps escalate concerns when necessary.

You can also follow your trade's execution stages through the KwikPort app.

This combination of personal support and platform visibility means you are not expected to manage every operational activity independently.

4.

What Happens When a Trade Faces Disruptions?

Even carefully assessed commercial transactions can encounter operational challenges.

A provider may experience a delay, goods may require additional verification, or an execution activity may need corrective action.

When a disruption involving an approved service provider is identified, KwikPort coordinates the response and works to resolve the issue under the applicable service and trade-protection arrangements.

Depending on the circumstances, resolution may involve correcting incomplete work, requiring the responsible provider to fulfil its obligations, appointing an eligible replacement or taking another action permitted by the relevant agreements.

The objective is to restore the trade to its agreed execution path and support successful completion.

5.

What Does KwikPort's Trade-Protection Commitment Cover?

Every trade on KwikPort is backed by three layers: service providers who answer for their work, KwikPort's own safeguard for events outside anyone's control, and insurance where the contract requires it. If a trade is cancelled or fails for a reason you did not cause, these layers are there to make sure you still have a successful trade.

The specific scope of protection, eligibility conditions and remedies depend on the context of the contract and the agreement governing that particular trade.

Trade protection should therefore be understood alongside the trader's contractual responsibilities and the requirements of the underlying commercial opportunity.

6.

What Are Your Responsibilities as a Trader?

Trade protection operates within a real commercial transaction. Your participation carries obligations.

Before activating a Trade Ticket, you should review the contract requirements, commodity cost, applicable execution expenses, expected earnings and timeline.

You must complete the required activation payment, appoint eligible service providers when necessary, pay applicable service charges and comply with the conditions of your chosen allocation.

You should also provide any required information or approvals and cooperate with reasonable requests relating to execution and verification.

Where the trader has not fulfilled an applicable obligation, the resulting consequences are governed by the relevant contract and protection terms.

KwikPort's commitments do not eliminate the responsibilities associated with participating in commerce.

7.

How Does Protection Relate to Earnings and Settlement?

Your trading earnings arise from the commercial margin generated by fulfilling a buyer's contract.

Your Trade Wallet displays the gross contracted buyer value associated with your active Trade Ticket. That figure is not immediately withdrawable money.

As the transaction progresses, KwikPort supervises execution and coordinates the applicable completion and settlement processes.

Once settlement funds become available under the relevant terms, they are credited to your Naira Wallet, from which eligible funds can be withdrawn.

For qualifying transactions affected by covered disruptions, KwikPort's applicable protection commitments are designed to support the agreed settlement outcome and timeline.

The exact obligations and remedies depend on the context of the contract and the agreement governing that particular trade.

8.

How Can You Follow Your Trade?

KwikPort provides visibility into the progress of your active transaction.

Through the app and your Personal Trade Officer, you can follow the relevant execution stages, receive updates and raise questions about the status of your trade.

The stages vary depending on the contract.

A domestic supply contract may involve procurement, inspection and delivery. An international transaction may also require packaging, export documentation and logistics coordination.

Your trade follows the activities necessary to fulfil its underlying commercial agreement.
